The Sovereign Poet is not bound by external expectations – instead, they seek to expand the limits of language, imagination, and human potential.

The Sovereign Poet contributes to the collective consciousness, guiding themselves and their audience toward self-emancipation and greater cultural understanding.

Launching Summer 2026, The Sovereign Poet Society is a community of passionate individuals dedicated to using poetry for personal and collective growth. Hosted by Tom Shaw, the mission of the Society is simple: to inspire ourselves and others to reach our highest potential through the power of poetry.

Whether you’re a reader seeking to celebrate the work of others, or a writer aiming to deepen your craft, the Society offers supportive spaces for all. We welcome all levels of experience looking to elevate themselves and those around them through poetry.

Founding Involvement

With a Founding Involvement, you’ll be at the forefront of shaping the culture and ethos of the Sovereign Poet Society, defining the experience for years to come. Founders will receive two months of their first year of Involvement for free, whether as an Observer or a Member. In addition, Founding Members and Founding Observers will also get an exclusive “Founder” tag within the Strictly Poetry Chat, recognising your support of the Society during its early stages.

There are two options for involvement with the Sovereign Poet Society:

1. Observer Involvement. For those who wish to honour the work of others, being an Observer confers the following benefits:
   1. Read-only Access to the Strictly Poetry Chat. Get exclusive insight into the power of communicating with others solely through verse.
   2. Access to the 30-Day Poetic Realignment Guide. Taking the core concepts of the Poetic Realignment Bundle, this guide pairs daily poems with thought-provoking questions to help you reflect and realign with your life goals.
   3. Access to Tom Shaw’s Archive. Explore a collection of Tom’s previous works and books available exclusively through the Society.
   4. Become a Full Member at Any Time. If you feel inspired at any point to begin your own writing journey, you can convert to being a Member at any time.
2. Member Involvement. For those looking to hone their own poetic craft as part of a high-integrity community, being a Member confers the following benefits:
   1. Full Access to the Strictly Poetry Chat. Participate in conversations with other Members entirely through verse. You’ll also receive weekly writing prompts to engage your skills in a shared creative space.
   2. Full Access to the Poetic Realignment Bundle: This includes the 30-Day Poetic Realignment Guide, plus future updates and additional resources to help elevate your writing.
   3. Exclusive Invitations to Seasonal Poetic Retreats – Four half-day online retreats each year, featuring poetry-writing masterclasses, group salons to refine your work-in-progress, and opportunities to have your voice heard.
   4. Access to Tom Shaw’s Archive. Unlimited access to Tom’s previous works and books, available exclusively through the Society.
